About From the Team

Microsoft Flight Simulator has been around for about 25 years, which is a long time in the world of software. In fact, Microsoft has been continually publishing Flight Simulator longer than anything else. We started before Windows and Office, we outlived DOS, Decathlon, and even Bob....

The "From the Team" section of FSInsider answers the question, "Who are the folks that have spent the better portion of their lives working on this 25+ year franchise?"

We have an amazing array of bright and talented people in our studio, representing many different disciplines: Development, Test, Art, Design, Program Management, Audio, etc. Over time I’ll be gathering profiles of our team members and posting them in this section. These profiles will include team member backgrounds, interests, Flight Sim "favorites," as well as links to team member blogs so you can stay current with the team’s goings on.

Who am I? Brett Schnepf. My long title is "Community and Partner Development Manager." That means I'm the guy who takes all the credit for what the hard-working Community team does. :)

The Community team's responsibility is to manage our interaction with the Flight Sim community via our Website, events, and other community promotions/activities. Having been at Microsoft for over 15 years working as a Beta Coordinator, Test Lab Manager, Sales/Channel Analyst, Product Manager, Technical Evangelist, and Developer Relations Manager in various teams (SideWinder, Xbox, Windows/DirectX and currently Microsoft Games Studios!) I bring both a "Product" (FSX) and a "Platform" (Windows) perspective to the table.

I'll be a little daring and give you my email address in case you have any questions or want to give me feedback directly: brettsc@microsoft.com.

Enjoy our site!
